Vision and Values

This church was started with the following four aims: 1) to reflect the diversity of Riverdale by intentionally reaching out into different cultural groups, 2) to be recognized as the most loving people in Riverdale, 3) to be a people who bring hope and peace into the places where we live, work, and serve, and 4) to make disciples of Jesus Christ.  Controlling our vision are five values:

1. Discipleship: Walking with our neighbours and one another towards Christ-likeness (Matthew 28:18-20)
2. Diversity: Welcoming and valuing people from different ethnic, social, and economic backgrounds into the life of the body (Luke 10:25-37)
3. Fellowship: Building a family of believers that care for each other’s spiritual and physical needs with authenticity, generosity, and unity (Acts 2:42-47)
4. Prayer: Depending on God as we approach him together on a regular basis (Psalms, Luke 11:1-13)
5. Serving: Giving ourselves for the welfare and peace of Riverdale and neighbours (Matthew 5:13-16)
